Gang violence

Seems like we cannot go a day without having a gang related shooting in the bad parts of the city I live in. Sometimes we have 2, 3, 4 or 5 shootings. Most of these turn out to be gang related; two conflicting gangs. Sometimes they involve life threatening injuries and sometimes the bullets just graze a hand or arm or foot. However - maybe even worse of all - sometimes these gang shootings cause innocent, passerby casualties. A few weeks ago, a guy was walking his dog in the middle of the day over in an area that is OK by day, terrible by night. He got caught in a cross-fire between two rival gang members and wound up shot and in critical condition. Just a few days ago, one of my co-worker's aunt who was driving through the area at the time - was caught by a stray bullet and killed. She was not the intended target but a case of in the wrong place at the wrong time. I wish I could get involved in some way. There is SO much violence related to gangs in my area. What we can we do to stop this? Who's responsibility is this?

From what l do read in the news USA has violence problems. And l dont see an end any time soon, too many people are frustrated and desperate and dont see any future apart from joining violent gangs. Im very thankful we do not have much violence here and if any sure not gang related.
