The End of May

I can’t believe we are at the end of May. This month just flew by for me. It was the rainiest month we’ve had here in Virginia for a long time. Because of the rain, I stayed busy at home and got a lot done. So I guess, staying busy makes the time go faster, it seems anyway.
June will probably be a hot month, so I will have to choose my days to run errands in the heat. I will probably wait until evening to do most of my errands. I can’t tolerate the really hot weather and June is just the beginning of a long hot summer. School will finish up on June 17th, so my grandson will be home every day. He is taking a summer class though, online. And very soon he will be taking Driver’s Education, learning to drive. That’s just another thing for me to worry about. That’s just me, I can’t help it.
As I’ve mentioned before, FALL is my favorite time of the year and this Fall I hope to go into West Virginia to see the colorful leaves on the trees and to visit some cousins. Hopefully, I will be able to do that.
Do you have vacation plans for the summer? I hope you plans work out, whatever you plan to do this summer. Of course, in some places winter is just beginning, so what plans do you have for the winter months? I used to go snow skiing every winter, but I don’t ski anymore.

I have found that within fifty miles of where I live there is a lot to see that I haven't seen before, so day trips and weekend trips are fun if you plan them in advance. Choose a place, check on a hotel in the area and go for it.

I know there is really a lot to see in your own area if you just look for it.

@Marcyaz That's right. There are always historical sites and parks and nature trails and things like that which are FREE. State Parks are nice also and museums. What a person needs to do is just check out online or in a local newspaper what recreational events are coming up in your area and make plans to go.
I you just set aside a few dollars now and then, you can have a holiday two or three times a year. You would be surprised how enjoyable that is.

We don't have any vacation plans for the summer-I wish! Lol. Being able to get our bills paid each month will make me happy though.

I always set aside some money each week for vacation. Then, if an emergency doesn't happen to take the money away, I use it to go somewhere, even if its not very far away and even if its just for the day or one night in a place I have not been before. Even if its just within fifty miles and I can drive there and enjoy the day.
I save all my quarters in a big jar and they add up fast.
