Houston Astros activate outfielder Carlos Gomez from the disabled list

Jesse Sanchez reports the news from Phoenix Arizona the Houston Astros have recalled from their AA minor league team the Corpus Christi Hooks outfielder Carlos Gomez to replace infielder Colin Moran to their AAA minor league team the Fresno Grizzlies on Tuesday.
Gomez was placed on the 15 day disabled list on May 17 which was retroactive to May 16, 2016 with a bruise to his left rib cage. Gomez at the of his injury had a batting average of .182 in 34 games played for the Astros as their center fielder.
Moran who played in six games for the Astros after he was called up from the Grizzlies on May 17, 2016 with a batting average of .105.
Moran will be sent back to the minor leagues so he can improve his ability to hit Major League pitching back in the minor leagues.

Gomez has to pick it up. He is one of the many reasons for Houston's disappointing start.
