Does the weather's mood match your food?

I see a lot of myLotians are writing about the weather. This got me thinking and I realize that is is a very frequent topic in our daily lives. Especially among strangers in public places. A safe non controversial topic to break the ice.
In fact the first person I met today greeted me with,"Its going to be hot today".
And, yes it was.So there was everyone in my workplace saying,"How hot it is today"
But now that it is evening I see dark clouds gathering and very soon there will be a violent thunderstorm.
The weather bureau says this is pre-monsoon behavior.
The abrupt changes make it difficult to "suit my food to the weather's mood".
Like, when the day begins on a sunny and bright note ,I prepare a jug of tea and put it in the fridge to enjoy a refreshing cool drink when I get back from work.
Instead, I get stuck in a heavy shower and come home wet and cold.
I want a hot cup of coffee with some savouries now. No takers for the iced tea in the fridge
What about you all? What food do you like in different weather conditions?
The photo is mine of the surrounding country side.

That's a beautiful photo. Yes, if we were banned from writing about the weather, half the posts would disappear
.
I'm one of those people that loves eating ice cream in the winter, and drinks hot tea all year round. So no, I don't usually match my food and drink to the weather.

I don't think the weather influences what I eat or drink. In colder weather I do like to make chili. It's good for warming the bones on a cold day. In summer I like potato salad. My everyday drink is water. However, I don't make chili everyday in winter or potato salad everyday in summer.

Well I am a great water drinker too. While people at my workplace love having cups of tea regularly , i enjoy my morning cups of tea but rest of the day I'm gulping down water.
I have never tasted chili. Now I'll look it up.

@valnz Thank you.I too am enjoying reading the replies too.
The other thing I am enjoying is that the weather is different at different parts of the world.
We used to read about weather being reverse in the Southern Hemisphere when I was in school studying geography. There was this picture of people enjoying a picnic lunch on the beach on Christmas Day.
But this is so much better than a geography lesson , when I am interacting with real people and getting to know about the weather first hand.
.
Its hot here today, I've a jugful of fresh lime juice in the refrigerator. Some friends are dropping in and I've got that ready for them.

My husband is my chef and if its hot he cooks cool things...and we eat salads and anything that doesn't used the oven. I am a water drinker, I drink it all day and in the summer much more than when its cool, Love iced tea with lemon (no sugar) all summer.

@PainsOnSlate I really like the idea of your husband cooking for you.My husband does help out a lot,, laying the table, clearing up ,washing up.... but no good at cooking..:)
We have lots of curds(yogurt) in summer, plain or mixed with fresh grated vegetables and seasoned with mint.
I too am a great water drinker.

@responsiveme My husband was a chef before he became a teacher and coach. Now he's semi retired and he has taken over my kitchen - which makes me very very happy.

It would always be the coffee. When it's raining, hot coffee it is. When it's hot, iced coffee will be served.

I love coffee but then my BP became high since a couple of years ago,so I take coffee occasionally now.Hot in cold winter evenings.
Recently I read that coffee does spike up BP but not for all and they (news paper) suggested after drinking coffee a person should check BP and see if it affects you personally.Haven't got down to that.:)

@responsiveme One time I had palpitations after drinking a cup of coffee. I already consumed two cups. Maybe too much of it is a bad thing. Well, too much of everything is bad.

We make ice tea almost every day in the summertime heat here, but usually do some cooking or grilling for dinners.

Do you put in mint leaves? Or squeeze in lemon juice? I like drinking iced tea too in the hot weather.
