In about two weeks we will be leaving home and driving to a camp ground not to far away from home. We have been dying to go camping and I cannot leave our area yet. My doctor says NO. So we decided that we will go on a mini camping trip for a few days nearby. Of course our spot will not look like the picture I used but we will still be in the woods with a few trees surrounding us. Plus, we will be in a camper, not a tent. But I am sure we will love this little trips into the getter outdoors. We both intend to enjoy it thoroughly. Do you ever take little mini camping trips just to get away?

The last thing I would ever do is camp - I prefer comfort. I can get away right in my backyard.

@HazySue Sure it has conveniences, but as afraid as I am about t-storms being in a camper isn't much protection.

@AbbyGreenhill I love to camp but only when I have my camper to do it in. It has most of the conveniences of home.

@AbbyGreenhill I too am afraid of thunderstorms. So far I have been lucky and have only encountered one while camping.

We are retired but have always loved to camp and fish. I just got back from a 3 day trip in May. Going again soon.

@fishtiger58 one of the reasons I was so looking forward to retiring was because we would get to go on camping trips more often.
