High Tide in my Mouth

Hi, my name is Nona. I'm 35, and I have a wisdom tooth coming in! Yep, it is growing FORWARD from the BACK of my jaw, and it is quite painful. Only a tiny tip is showing, an island of enamel in a sea of gums. And my gums really are like a sea right now. The gums and jaw around where the tooth is coming in are very swollen and painful. I'm taking ibuprofen for the pain, and that also helps the swelling a little bit. When the pills are in my system the swelling goes down and you can see the tooth. But when the pills are wearing off, the gums swell so bad that it covers the little tooth. Right now I've been about 10 hours since I've taken a pill, so my face is swollen and you can't see the tooth. Its high tide in my mouth. And....I won't be able to see a dentist until Monday. If it has to be surgically removed it will be even longer before something is doable about the pain. So, while my tooth island amuses me it is also very painful. Have your wisdom teeth came in? Did you have to have them removed? (image from pixabay.com CC0 Public Domain Free for commercial use No attribution required )

I'm 31 and just started having problems with mine actually. I have a surgical consult on July 14th and will be having mine removed sometime later this summer or early fall.

I wish you the best of luck with yours. Its nice to know I'm not the one one with "late blooming" wisdom teeth. I also hope I don't have to wait until fall to rid myself of this discomfort.
