Jeff McLane reports the news on Friday Philadelphia Eagles first year head coach Doug Pederson has chosen Sam Bradford to be his Week One starting quarterback if he is able to play football at the first week of the regular football season.
Pederson does not want to have rookie quarterback Carson Wentz take the reins of the team during the first week of the 2016 regular football season since he feels that Wentz will have to learn how to be an effective quarterback in the National Football League in the near future by having Bradford lead the team at this time.
Eagles offensive coordinator Frank Reich is not granting his endorsement that Bradford should lead the team in 2016 at this time since Bradford has a history of not being able to win enough football games to qualify to be an elite quarterback in the league due to his history of being injured.
The opinions of the Rotoworld website is that if Bradford does not perform in a way to win enough football games to keep his starting quarterback position in 2016, Pederson will be forced to make a change in the quarterback position by having either Chase Daniel or Carson Wentz replace Bradford as the starting quarterback of the Eagles during the 2016 regular football season.

Makes sense to start a veteran while the rookie learns the ropes.
