The Cucumber is has a cooling and refreshing effect on your system. It contains lot of water. Cucumber in salad keeps you hydrated whether you consume it as it is or a juice out of it. It can safely be include in your diet list for the following reason;
The flavonol called fisetin contained in cucumber protects your brain.It increases your memory and the nerve cells from ageing.
It also protects you from breast cancer
Cucumber fights inflammation in a very impressive manner.

In summer after a heavy workout I do keep the slices over my eyes and it gives a great relief to the eyes.

yes. This is how it is eaten in summer. In Hyderabad, India it will be sold on streets also.
