They men gain about a pound a year from age 25 to 60
When we hit the age of 50 we could be carrying an extra30 pounds along with your mortgage. They also say that napping we will become obese.
Not sure where they get this information.I nap a lot and do not see any change in my weight. At one time I read somewhere that naps are good.
Why do we get so many different answer on this.Mike is not obese also.
He is 70.
We do see changes in our body as we get older.
I know our metabolism slows down one of the reason putting on some weight.
But there is a way around this.
How do you feel about this?your take

Weight is so personal..it could be many factors causing weight gain I feel not just age.
Or even the lack of weight ...
So many different factors..each of us is so different.

@amadeo I do not believe that napping is bad for weight..in fact I think it is just the opposite..the body needs to replenish itself and that can help you to not gain weight. If one is not sleeping well, that may affect weight gain..just what I think about it.

People may get older each day and their bones are not the same as when one is a child. Metabolism has to deal with the changes in age. It´s not the same a normal heart beat than a faster or slower one.

@amadeo That is great. Many times old people come into lots of health problems for not being active.

yea, Its quite true as our metabolism rate gets slower. Need to adjust it with exercise and diet

I think you need to be sure and eat right and exercise every day. We eat right and go for a walk every day.

@amadeo - Hi Alfredo - The last time I visited our doctor, they could not weigh me. The scale was broken. Seems like the big, fat, doc had weighed himself, and that did the poor old scale in. Busted. He did it. Not me. (Hand me another hunk of cake, please...)

Napping is good @amadeo ; it allows the brain to recharge. As for the food; our metabolism does slow down because we aren't as active but we don't eat as much either.

I agree about metabolism. I've heard that the older we get, the more we need to move around to offset our metabolism. We also need to be careful of what we eat since changes in our aging bodies could possibly affect digestion. I'm trying to get more fruit and vegetables into my body, just to keep things moving along as well as possible. That has to help!

Personally, while I could stand to lose a few pounds, I do ride a lot of them off on my bike during the summer. You have tennis to keep your pounds off, which is a great way to do it.
