The Government of India has been spending a lot of amount towars development of tourism Industry in India. However, the position is not upto the mark and this is not commissurate with the amount spent. According the TTCI ( Travel and Tourism Competitiveness Index) report 2015 the rank assigne to India is 52 though the Governemnt is competing with China for an increase in the GDP. The ranking for China happens to be 17. As per the Report for the year 2015 of the world Travel and Toursim Coucil the leisure spening was 83.5% and the Business spending was 16.5%. Foreign visitor spening was 18.6% and the Domestic spending was only 81.4%. Surprisingly the contribution of Travel & Trousim to GDP for India (11th ranking in 2014) was 40.60bn USD and this in case of China (ranking 2nd in 2014) was 26.30bn USD. This iis only the Director Domestic Spending which is contributing to the GDP of India and there is a lot to work to achieve an increase in the Foreign Visitor Spending. The following steps need to be considere to improve the position further; Allow corporate sponsorship for heritage buildings to develop spots of created experiences but not sightseeing spots Build great roads and access points Introuction of aggressive marketing strategies introduce liberal offers Safety and Cleanliness have to be ensured Safe transort and Security have to be developed and assured the Steps should be secular but not religious oriented; More International Airports should be introduced the steps should be Handicapped oriented.
