Mundane Moments

Today we got to enjoy the experience of a large, gaping hole in our wall. Our sliding door was being replaced with a new and improved model. Something that would make our house more energy efficient and, you know, actually lock. We had a bit of a mix up though. Someone (not us, for once!) measured the area wrong and ordered the wrong sized door. The right size had to be tracked down ASAP--the window guy didn't want to leave us exposed to the elements for a few days while he waited for the right one to be ordered and delivered. I'm sure the kids wouldn't have minded the delay. They were having a blast jumping from the indoors, to the outdoors. The dog was enjoying toting off the window guy's work gloves. Fortunately, I discovered the theft before she chewed them to pieces. And the baby enjoyed driving me crazy by trying to drag the worker's tools all over the place while he (the worker) was off picking up the correct door. That was our mundane adventure for the day. What mundane events have YOU experienced today?

@Hatley At least the weather hasn't been too horrible. As annoying as it might have been, we could have managed a day or two without a door if we'd had to. Though the mosquitoes would have been a horrendous nuisance.

That hole doesn't lead to Narnia right?

I'm glad the worker didn't leave you doorless. Is it in now? Nothing special happened to me today - I've been gardening, interspersed with coming inside to play on here.

Hey, that sounds mundane enough to me! Yup, the door is in now. It took a couple of hours but it is finished! Woohoo!! Now we just need to convince the landlord to replace all our old, 60's windows with energy efficient ones and we'll have a cozy little house!
