John Hickey reports the news from Milwaukee Wisconsin the Oakland Athletics have placed left handed starting pitcher Rich Hill on the 15 day disabled list with a strain of his left groin. Hill has not pitched since May 29 when he pitched in a baseball game versus the Detroit Tigers. The Athletics decided to place Hill on the 15 day disabled list on Thursday since Hill during a bullpen session on Wednesday injured his left groin again. Hill will not be able to make his next starting assignment versus the Cincinnati Reds on Saturday due to his injury. Since Hill has not pitched since May 29, the effect of the 15 day disabled list begins on May 30, 2016 which means that Hill should be able to return to the pitching mound around the middle of June if he has fully recovered from his groin injury. Hill has a pitching record of eights and three losses with an earned run average of 2.25 during the 2016 Major League Baseball season.

He was pitching well which doesn't mean much since Oakland is going nowhere but he would have value as trade bait. A groin injury hurts his value.

The sources of the report were saying his injury comes at a bad time.
