Good morning, dear lotters. I woke up to a very chilly morning. And as I looked up to the Andes mountains nearby, I understood why everything was so cold. The last heavy rain must have been a big snow storm there and all the nearest hills are white. It is a beautiful sight, but it means that we must cover some of the plants so that they don´t die from frost bite. Winter hasn´t started officially yet. It does in the middle of June. But the climate doesn´t go by dates. And where I live only thepeople with more money have centrasl heating. The rest of us have other means of heating our houses and it is not good yet it is very expensive. I hope this cold spell ends soon. My fingers will just fall and I will not be able to mylot

During the cold weather its better to stay inside the house and sit beside the fireplace to keep yourself warm.

I don´t go out as much in Winter. But chimneys are not allowed in the city I live because of the pollution.

@magallon I have 3 gas heaters but I usually turn on one as I live alone. I also have an electric blanket at night. And warm clothes.

We cannot have chimneys in our city because there is too much pollution.

@ilocosboy Each place has its pros and cons. We have some cold in winter (0C at dawn for maybe a couple of weeks after a rain) and we have earthquakes. We don´t have snakes or dengue or sika. And we don´t have tornados or typhoons.

I agree entirely, the snow is very scenic but far from a welcome sight.

The snow is at the mountains, but the cold creeps in as we are in a sort of hole by them.

I am not one that enjoys the winter months. However, I do enjoy the changing seasons. If I could stay inside and not venture out in the cold it would make it easier.

It is very cold. But we must remember that a hundred years ago or less noone had central heat. We use warmer clothing, even inside our house.

Well, we have had very warm weather, real summer weather, but on Saturday and Sunday it was snowing.. I put a couple of pictures on my Facebook site.. - The snow melted very quickly and it is warmer now, and we hope we get normal summer weather. Interesting to read what happens on the other side of the earth..
