When I was 16 years old. I went to certain city which is my first time strolling there. I was caught by the cop for jaywalking. Oh my gosh so embarassing. I cried and tell them "I swear I don't know this place and this is my first time". Am thankful to the cops they did not punish me but I was warned by then.

actually i still never been caught for jaywalking because even i am afraid to across in a road where no pedestrian crossing,so i always use the over pass to go pass by,and aside from that your penalty is to clean or to pay 500 peso amount for fine penalty.

Once, when I was 19. I had to read the traffic laws aloud (with 4 more persons caught) and had to choose between a day of community service or paying the fine. I chose to pay the fine and still keeps the receipt with til now.=P

No never.
Where did it happen to you? It's not usual that police make something against jaywalking. I'd like to know more!

jaywalking is very common in India, that they never try to catch us first of all, leave alone punishing...coz of the crowded streets, and huge population, people are not patient enough to stand at the red lights, they run instead dodging the vehicles...lolz..
