Stella! Stella!

'Stella! Stella!' he shouted across the train platform. 'Somebody stop that woman!', he pleaded to the railway personnel that he saw.
He was too late though. Stella, clad in her favorite black cocktail dress looked at him, turned around and jumped into the tracks and instantly dies as the incoming train hit her body.
There was a collective scream and gasp from everyone who witnessed the suicide. Strangers, both young and old, professionals and students... everyone who a few seconds earlier did not give anyone else a second look, much less a fleeting thought. Everyone now looked towards the rail... hoping against hope that the woman survived it. Some brave souls rushed towards it trying to look beyond the train... some tried to peer down under it.
'Stella! Stella!', the man said crying. He fell down on his knees. Outside, he was showing remorse and sadness. Inside his head though, he was congratulating himself. I've succeeded. Days earlier, he had switched medical results. Stella would have breathed a sigh of relief knowing that the tumor found in her body wasn't cancerous. Instead, what she read was a grim one. The whole body has been infected... the kidneys and other vital organs would shut down one after another... it was a painful three months down the road and then death. Death, in this case, would be welcomed with open arms. Why wait though for three months and endure the pain, physical, emotional, perhaps even a financial one?
Stella decided to end her life... and did her husband a big favor.
'Stella! Stella! Stella ... oh what a fool you were!!!' her husband said over and over and over again in his mind as he gave his statements to the local authorities.

@wiLLmaH I'll make a continuation of the story but perhaps not in the same vein as you expected.
