Game of Thrones, Season 6 Episode 8 Review and Thoughts

These are my thoughts and feelings about tonight’s episode of “Game of Thrones”. If you haven’t watched it yet, beware of spoilers. The net is dark and full of spoilers. I was actually surprised by tonight episode. We got to see Arya and The Waif fight and battle, one on one. The battle was pretty bland. I mean, there was not any major battle. It was mostly a chase. Then we see Arya cut the light off of a candle and we know that she is fighting the Waif. We know that Arya is going to win the fight. And of course she does and she even takes the Waif’s face. Then she announces to Jaquen H’ghar that she is going home. In King’s Landing, they talked a bit about Cersei’s trial. King Tommen makes trial by combat a thing of the past. Which means that Cersei can’t use the zombified version of “The Mountain” to win her battles for her. This is a very good thing. This means that we might actually get to see justice in King’s Landing, as far as Cersei goes. One thing that was awesome, was seeing Daenerys’ city under attack. No, not the fact that they were under attack, but the knowing that Dany was going to swoop up on Drogon and win the battle. Of course it is what happened. Tyrion, Grey Worm, Missandei and other members of Dany’s army hear a noise on the top of the pyramid. That is when we know Dany is back. She comes into the pyramid and we see Drogon in the background and he is going after the ships that have attacked Meereen. The other part of the show was also a bit anti-climatic. I think this whole episode was that way. We saw Jamie and Brienne reunite for a short bit. One part of the show that was exciting, was more hinting towards Lady Stoneheart, with the Hound and members of “The Brotherhood” who follow “R’hllor” the Red God. If they bring Lady Stoneheart in, the show will reach a whole new level. We are on episode 8 and we only have two more. Next week is “The Battle Of The Bas*ards” (I had to type it that way, because of the word, it will not let me put it in here). In that episode, we will see Jon Snow vs. Ramsay Bolton. I am hoping that episode will progress things and we will have a great ending to the season. I am off now to start watching the show from the beginning again. This way I can review the episodes one by one and also see what else I have missed.
