San Francisco Giants activate RHP Matt Cain from the disabled list

Dave Del Grande reports the news from San Francisco the San Fransisco Giants have activated from the 15 day disabled list right handed pitcher Matt Cain.
Cain had been on the 15 day disabled list with a strain of his right hamstring on May 27, 2016 during a pitching performance against the Colorado Rockies,
To make room for Cain on the Giants 25 man active roster, the Giants have demoted right handed pitcher Chris Stratton to their AAA minor league team the Sacramento River Cats on Monday.
Stratton had pitched three games for the Giants since he replaced Cain on the Giants roster on May 28, 2016 with a record of of one win and zero losses with a 3.00 earned run average.
Cain will be the starting pitcher when the Giants host the Milwaukee Brewers at A T & T Park in San Fransisco California on Monday.

Getting Cain back is huge for the Giants who have an excellent pitching staff.

You are correct. Matt is one of the best pitchers on their staff.
