Are practice of giving dowry in marriages eradicated?

there is a tradition of giving dowry during marriages by the parents of the bride in many parts of the world.
In India there is dowry prohibition act, which makes it criminal offence?
But has the tradition being eradicated?
In many parts of the world still gifts are given in marriage from the family members of the brides.

Not yet completely .But the mindset in people has changed to a great extent .Most of the bride grooms are not accepting any dowry. Love marriages are the reason to some extent and working women could be the other reason

Yes Vijayji, women these days earn their own living, so concept of giving dowry in marriage is reducing down. It is a good sign.
