Today is Flag Day in the U.S. I was going to make a whole speech here about in light of the recent shootings Americans need to show our pride by flagging the American flag all over.
Upon doing some research I found out that Flag Day was started with a schoolteacher is Wisconsin had her class to honor "Flag Birthday" to mark the anniversary of the Flag Resolution of 1777. It then became popular and in 1916 President Woodrow Wilson made a presidential proclamation, which officially established Flag Day. But it wasn't until 1949 that President Harry Truman signed an act of Congress designating June 14 as Flag Day.
So, fly your flag high and proud!!
~Peace~
