I happened to see two boys selling honey on the roadside. They were sitting with big cans in front of them. One was with honey and another was having brokes hives and bees inside his can. In inquired where did they get that much honey and if it was pure. They showed a house and told me that it was collected from the tree inside that house. Another person put some honey in my hand and asked me to taste. I tasted it. He asked for Rs.500- for a litr. I bargained for Rs.400/- and felt that any amount less than Rs.400 /- woulld be unjust and it would be nothing but looting a villager which I id not want to. I paid Rs.200/- and got a bottle of it. Put it safely in my fridge The next morning when I opened the bottle it was not honey but only a liquid jaggery. There were sufficient sugar particles at the bottom of the bottle. I really wondered how he cheated me with his nice and sweet words. Did you have any such experience?

What is Jaggery? I had not heard this term. I guess there are scam artists everywhere.

Slick little bait and switch scam. I wouldn't have been too happy about that.

While it is encouraged to buy stuff from vendors on the street because it's one way of helping them put food on their table, this kind of deception makes consumers think twice.
