Still in the hospital...and my friend died yesterday :(

I'm so sad. My kidney stone won't move or pass, and it is stuck so good that the pain is constant. Every 4 hours they give me a morphine shot in my butt, because supposedly it lasts longer. It hurts more to get and takes longer to kick in, but I trust my doctor's judgement. He's been really nice. Yesterday a friend of mine died suddenly. She had an undiagnosed infection in her heart that caused clots, a mild stroke, and an aneurysm that caused her to go into a coma, and be put on life support. The damage had been done and there was no brain activity, so they took her off. This all happened in under a day! She has worked at the school my kids go to for 19 years, and I've been a parent there 16 (all 5 of my kids have gone there). She watched them grow up, saw them break bones, and I talked to her everyday. I will miss her so much. She was such an important part of our lives and my kids are heartbroken too. My oldest is 18 now, and was really upset. All through high school she asked about him and wanted to know how he was doing. She really helped him come out of his shell in middle school. All my kids started at this school when they were 2 years old. Two of them left after 5th grade and went to a different middle school, but my oldest was there until he went off to high school. I think he was the most upset because they were pretty close during his middle school years. She was really a sweet and caring person that was loved by so many. I've seen so many current and former students posting the most heartwarming messages. I am proud to say she was my friend.

May she rest in peace now and I hope you'll get over your kidney stone. Didn't they use blasting by laser?

No. I am 28 weeks pregnant, so there isn't much they can do until the baby is born.

@cpefley Oh I see. I hope you'll have a normal delivery and your baby would be fine and healthy. Hope your stone problem will be solved after having rested from delivering your baby.

It can be pretty scary. I don't think you can really explain to someone how much it hurts unless they experience it. It's awful!

Those are too much to take in. I hope the pain will subside soon, i know how it feels when the medicine takes longer to take effect. I'm sorry about your long time friend too. My sincerest condolence.

How sad that is. it must have been such a shock as it happened so quickly. I hope your kidney stone gets on the move soon.
