Today's Into the Groovy (#72) takes us to Malone, New York, birthplace of Bob Mould.
Bob Mould was the guitarist/vocalist (sharing vocal duties with drummer Grant Hart) for the highly influential, legendary punk band Husker Du (and later, Sugar.)
Mould embarked on a solo career in 1989 (prior to forming Sugar,) and has released 13 solo albums.
(Fun Fact from Wikipedia: Mould is an avid professional wrestling fan and worked briefly as a scriptwriter for the WCW.)
"Dreaming, I Am" is from his solo debut Workbook. It was not released as a single, yet as far as I'm concerned, it should have been. It's my favorite tune from that album.
With Workbook, Mould stepped away from his punk roots, especially on "Dreaming, I Am," which is about as radio-friendly as it can be. And that's not a bad thing.

I have heard of Husker Du but unfamiliar with Mould's solo work.

It's really good. I saw him on Austin City Limits last year. He was awesome. Even did a couple Husker Du songs, which of course, I can't remember which ones.
