If you look at other people's profiles and their lists of Followers and Following, there are 'Follow' buttons next to each one there. However, I would suggest that, rather than follow a whole bunch of people at random, you select people whose discussions you enjoy and, in particular, those who can be seen to be actively responding and commenting in other people's discussions. It is pretty useless to follow people with whom you have nothing in common and who aren't likely to respond and comment on your posts!

@graciemac The real 'favour' happens when you respond to or comment on someone else's discussion because that is like giving them a few fractions of a cent. In return, your discussions, responses and comments will earn for you when other people respond and comment. It's a two-way system where what we earn depends on how much others interact with us.

Oh you do a good job,
now you have some followers too and are following others. Do what you have to then. Try to respond other discussion, get wet yourself.
