Trouble with Skype

Philippines
June 17, 2016 6:35am CST
Usually this site is free, only if the one you communicate with has also skype. But I've been communicating with my relatives abroad by calling their landlline. Thus, it requires you to pay for subscription. There are three things I don't like though. One, It's expensive, and not's worth the pay if they don't use it everyday. two, there's always a problem with the mic sound, I had to reinstall it if i can't configure the settings. So, the problem now is the second one. For some reason I was able to fix my mic problem on my laptop. but in my mom's decade old laptop, the mic just don't work anymore. Well, they might use mine tomorrow.

I have Skype, and used to pay for the phone number so I could call people who didn't have Skype, which is everyone around here. They don't understand how convenient Skype is. I need to use a mic with this computer because it isn't built in, neither is the web cam. So there isn't any image at the moment.

Hello @just4him Well, I didn't care about the image the important is that you can talk to them even though you can't see them.

I have Skype on my computer but have never used it. I like Yahoo IM to talk with a couple of my friends.

You can install skype in your mobile phone. I think it can be more convenient. You can try international QQ.

@Letranknight2015 Viber and Oovoo apps are free. You and the other party just need to be online but you can talk as much as you want. Oovoo is like Skype - it has video too and you can even have as many as 12 people teleconferencing. You can try downloading them to see. Anyway, you can uninstall it easily too.

Skype is free for only Skype users. If u have to call u have to pay. It's better to call directly rather than Skype for landlines. Mic issues is laptop problem.

They should also use skype so it will be free of charge. There are so many ways today where we can communicate with people with less costs.

Hello @acelawrites it's only free charge if the other person has other skype account. but I'm calling a land line instead. the subscription is at lesser cost already.

Using skype to communicate with relatives from abroad is very convenient and I don't have to pay.

Why don't you let them install skype at their end? That would save you a lot of cash. Try Viber. Or if you have FB account you can have a video call with them.
