Why people enjoy going to amusement parks even though the rides are scary?

There are many reasons, but the main reason is for the adrenaline. For adults it is a chance to act like a kid again. Example: Roller Coasters do not bother me and I find them very fun and not scary. Now my wife on the other hand finds them. So I told her, let's take a smaller roller coaster and go through it a few times and she would see. It was a smaller coaster, so I actually video taped my wife on the coaster. 1st ride, she is screaming all the way down. By the last time we did it, I have her on video on the ride saying "this is fun" or "Whoohooo" when going down the hill. I am not saying she did not scream on certain parts, but after the 4th time, I would say she had a 90% improvement and was much less scared.

Is it that adrenaline rush comes down after we do a thrilling thing for sometimes?

@vijay_2016 If you do something that scares you, your adrenaline will be higher, but once you done it a few times, you will feel less adrenaline. For me, roller coasters are about being a kid. Even if it is a new ride, I am not scared, but I have a blast on the rides.

I think it's thrilling. And most of the individuals want to do something different than the same old mundane life, and hence do something adventurous to seek that thrill.

Such people even do the extreme adventures like bunjee jumps, mountain trekking, sky diving etc..
