How Do You Choose A Name For Your Blog?

It has been several months already and I could still not come up with a good and unique domain name name for what I am going to write. I got some names in my mind but those were already used by other bloggers. My interest lies on my experiences outside the country where my boyfriend and I visited and the stories and books that I have been reading. Have you ever experienced such difficulty in deciding for a name for your blog? How did you come up with your domain name?

If I have a travel blog I may use chungtravel,blog.com, something like that.

I travel with my boyfriend so I do not want to choose my name for a domain. Aside from that, either my first name or surname is too long for a title. Yours is okay because you have a short name. I think yours can easily be remembered.

@Chungshop I agree with you. It should be short and easy to remember. I am still thinking of other names and perhaps sooner I can have it because I want to have my blog before my birth month.

I did have a problem with mine, but I did come up with one. It's simple and says what I do. Mine is ValerieJRBooks unless it's all lowercase.

@just4him Do you generate earnings on your previous blog? I can see that you are very fond of writing.

Thanks for sharing your blog name with us. Is your blog talks only about books?

@annierose Yes, but I haven't been there in months, and not this year at all. I have nothing to write on there. I'll consider another blog when Scarred comes out in second edition.

I think for a blog name, choose something that reflects the topic/theme of your blog. Sometimes other bloggers name it after themselves, like to say that it's their personal domain. When I created my blog, I thought of a name that speaks of the niche I chose and my personality. Maybe you can do that, too. Good luck!

@moonchild117 Thanks again for the suggestion. What is the name of your blog?

@annierose "Hits and Mrs." I played on the phrase and my status as a married woman. My blog link is on my Profile page, just in case you want to check it out. But it's not as good as the popular bloggers out there. Mine's pretty basic.

Thanks for sharing. You have a catchy name for a blog. I think my name is too long for a domain name. By the way, what is your blog all about.

Stick with the niche your blog will be about and stay in it- this is apparently how people become successful.

@AkoPinay Managing two blogs require more hard work than just one blog. I am still searching for blogs that both have travels and readings combined.

I find it more difficult to think of a domain name than a title for Mylot Post. Anyway, it is okay.

will it be just a personal blog or are you going to monetize it?

I would like to monetize it in the long run. But at the moment, I will just focus on improving my writings.

Try to think of a name that is catchy and can more or less give a clue as to what you will be blogging about mainly .

Does it mean you are not in a blogging world now? Do you have any intentions to go back blogging?

One of the blogger friend advised me is to put your name as your domain name. When I attended Peng Joon's 3-day seminar, he confirmed that idea :)

I think it is a good idea. If you give the name of your blog to your friends, colleagues and relatives, they will easily remember it because it has your name.
