Marc Tomkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports the news that the Tampa Bay Rays who are currently in last place in the American League East Division as on Sunday's baseball games are interested in signing free agent outfielder Carl Crawford to a contract. Crawford was released by the Los Angeles Dodgers on June 13, 2015 after his batting average of .185 was one of the reasons the Dodgers decided to release the 34 year old outfielder. Crawford played nine seasons with the Tampa Bay Rays from 2002-2010 as their outfielder. Even though he is 34 years of age, the Rays need his services due to injuries to outfielders Steven Sousa Jr., Brandon Guyer and Kevin Kiermaier who are currently on the disabled list at this time it makes sense to bring back Crawford as an additional outfielder. The Rays would pay Crawford the minimum salary since the Dodgers will have to pay the remainder of his nearly $35 million dollar salary that runs through the 2017 baseball season.

Rotoworld said in their report the Rays could get a boost in ticket sales if he returns to his former team in 2016.
