Doug Mittler reports on his blog on Tuesday the San Francisco Giants are interested in making a trade with the New York Yankees for the services of their outfielder Carlos Beltran before the end of the 2016 baseball season. Beltran, 39, can become a free agent at the end of the 2016 baseball season. Due to the hamstring injury to Giants outfielder Hunter Pence that will have on the sidelines for a long period of time, the Giants are in need of the services of Beltran who played for the Giants during the second half of the 2011 baseball season after he was traded by the New York Mets on July 28, 2011 in exchange for Giants pitcher Zach Miller. The Yankees are currently in fourth place in the American League East Division with an outside chance of making it to the playoffs in the 2016 baseball season. Since the Yankees are not likely to be in contention to make a playoff run this year, it is possible that they may trade Beltran to the Giants before the trade deadline which is July 31, 2016 to receive young players from the Giants to rebuild their team for the near future.

I know the Yanks will start unloading players and moving Beltran makes sense. It also makes sense for the Giants to get him as Beltran still hits well.

Carlos despite his age of 39 years is one of the most productive hitters in the playoffs based on his work with the Astros.
