You may be right. It looks as if NASA has fallen short of it's original potential yet I see a light at the end of that tunnel with the launch of the James Webb space telescope in 2018. This will probably tip the scales in favor for NASA in ways not yet realized. I am hopeful for all countries that engage in the search for what's out there, and it should be a global effort, not a competition between nations or governments. It's all good.
