Busy, busy, busy here in both Manitou Springs and Colorado Springs this weekend.
Why?
This Sunday, June 26th, is the 100th anniversary of the International Pikes Peak Hill climb (it's the 94th edition of the race.) The motels are full, and race cars are everywhere.
Basically, each driver races, against the clock, to the summit of Pikes Peak. It's a 12.42-mile course, and can be quite dangerous: Last year, a driver crashed, and later died. It is the 2nd oldest auto race in the country.
It's also the only time camping on Pikes Peak is allowed, and a lot of spectators look to stake out a perfect viewing spot.
The record of 8:13:878 was set in 2013 by Sebastien Loeb. I've attached video of that run, which is really cool because it's shot with an on-board camera. If you're a gearhead, you might enjoy this.

I hope everyone will be safe this time around. Will you be watching this year? Is it free to the public?

I've never gone to watch it, and I'm not sure if they charge anything other than the normal toll. They do show it on a local station, though.

@teamfreak16 I see! Watching on tv will beat the crowds.
