Jon Heyman reports the news on Thursday the Miami Marlins are interested in acquiring Atlanta Braves right handed starting pitcher David "Bud" Norris before the Major League Baseball trade deadline which is on July 31, 2016.
Norris, 31, can become a free agent at the end of the 2016 baseball season. Since the Braves are not in contention to make it to the postseason, it would be wise for them to trade Norris to another team so they can receive some prospects in return so they can build up their team in the near future.
The Marlins are in need of starting pitching at this time, the Marlins are also interested in making trades with the San Diego Padres for left handed pitcher Drew Pomeranz and the Tampa Bay Rays for right handed pitcher Jake Odorizzi before the July 31, 2016 trade deadline.
Heyman reports the Chicago White Sox, Seattle Mariners and Detroit Tigers are also interested in making a trade with the Braves for the services of Norris before the trade deadline.
Norris will not likely remain with the Braves for the entire 2016 baseball season since they are in contention to make the playoffs and by trading him to a playoff contender they can receive prospects for the purpose of rebuilding their team for the future.

Logical move for Atlanta. Miami is sort of going for it this season.
