Is it required to wear the back seat seatbelt?

Wearing the seatbelt for the front seats are necessary, how about the backseats? I am not sure about it as here it is fine that we don't wear seatbelts when we sit in the back. Today I read a news and learned that Shenzhen, which a city nearby my city requires people also wear the seatbelts in the backseat. Otherwise there will be a punishment. I think it is OK. Anyway the purpose is for our safety. In fact I will not feel inconvenient or uncomfortable to wear the seatbelts.

Here, we have wear seat belts. It doesn't matter if we're in the front or the back, we have to wear it anyway. If we're in an accident, it could definitely make a difference, in my opinion.

@youless that's how I see it. Here in Canada everyone is required to wear a seat belt in a car.

Our country also needs people to wear seat belt in the back seat. But, after few years, most of us still don't wear it when sitting in the back seat. Actually, I will wear seat beat in the back seat when we are in the highway. I think wear seat belt in city road is not necessary.

I think it is equally important to wear the seatbelt for those sitting at the back of the car. There is a big possibility of being pushed to the back of the front seat when the driver suddenly steps on the break. Injuries could happen.
