The flower as you see in the photo is called "gumamela" or hibiscus in English term. The plant is also endemic in our country and lots of varieties are grown. Some are naturally born and some are crossbreed to other variety.
The photo is taken in our garden. The native hibiscus have three layer flower and in the top of it is the pistil. The color varies from red to orange (as I see in our region). Like other hibiscus, the flower last for one day but many flowers are blooming the next days.
Most of gumamelas have only one layer of flowers but with different colors. Some flowers varies to one layer to other design like the chandelier.
But this one is amazing.

When I was a kid we have that three layer gumamela in different colors. These days I hardly find one. One layer gumamela seems to be the trend.

It is so beautiful. I like the multi-layered petals of that gumamela.

That is a striking brilliant red. Pure nature's red.
