My parents wanted to cancel their credit card.Somehow some fraudsters got to know about this. They called my mom and said they were going cancel the card over phone she just had to answer some questions.Luckily When she was having this conversation I was in next room thinking she was talking to someone she knows. But when she started giving confidential bank details on phone I stopped her but she stubbornly told me that if someone is helping us and saving us the trouble of making many visits to bank then why I am having a problem? I snatched the phone and ended the call but after sometime the fraudsters again called and this time my mom gave them the pin.It so happens before she could give one time password I stopped her and showed her that the guy is trying to make some transactions through the credit card.I switched off her mobile phone and contacted the cops and got the card blocked.

Good thing you didn't hesitate and acted fast. Wherever you live, whatever your bank is - they will never ever ask you for any information regarding your account. Do you know the procedure of blocking/restoring/modifying an account? They have separate access and don't need/know your codes. The password you created, the code card or code generator you have is known to you and you alone. The bank simply cannot see it and will never need it because they operate the back end of the code, and you have the front end. That's how you can easily spot the red flags. Also, don't connect to your bank account via WiFi, especially in public areas. You'd be surprised how many bot attempts to intercept there are daily.

Hi Jerry! Wow! That was a close one. It's scary how people get so creative in getting important information such as credit card details. At least, you were able to save your mother from committing that huge mistake and you were able to have the credit card blocked. Who knows what will happen if you were not able to save the day.

Bank confidential details shouldn't be given over the phone. The bank would rather call you to visit their office if something suspicion is going on.

Yes I also told my mom the same thing. The thing is my parents don't take me too seriously as they think I am inexperienced and young.
