Daily Reminder to Stand Up

Since we all obviously spend at least some time online, I wanted to remind everyone to take standing breaks sometimes. It's actually really bad to sit for extended periods of time, so try standing and using your computer (you can stack books to make a standing desk if you have a laptop) or your phone. If you really want to sit, try getting a yoga ball to keep your core engaged. Or you can try kneeling instead of sitting (this usually doesn't change how high your head and arms are, so you can still use your computer). Take breaks, even if you just walk one lap around your house or jog up and down the stairs once. Go say hi to a neighbor. Just MOVE! Obesity is one of the worst diseases in the world- help combat it by staying active. Do you remember to take breaks from sitting?

Yes you are correct. I always get up to move also blink your eyes.

Great point! I always forget to blink and then my eyes dry out. Do your eye exercises!

I'm afraid I often get so engrossed on Mylot that I do forget. Thanks for the reminder, I'm going to get up now and have a walk round the house. (It's gone 10pm so I'm not going outside.)

That's probably a good idea, otherwise your neighbors might wonder. And [if] you have a smartphone, you can even walk and use your phone for myLot at the same time!

I do it. I always work on the table, so when I need to drink water or to go to the comfort room, etc. I always stand and walk a little. Thanks for the reminder.

And why not add some exercise to our daily schedule. Exercise is a sure panecea to not just obesity but majority of medical conditions out there. Had a discussion posted on it 2 days back.
