Worried About Referendum LEAVE

Am I the only one who has a sense of dread over the Leave winning in the EU referendum. I cannot feel this is a bad move for the UK. I know many people think leaving the EU is best for the UK. The pound has lost most of its value, the share price is dropping on the stock exchange which incidentally pays the private pensions scheme. My husband has spent years paying into a private pension , at his own expense to make sure we have a happy retirement. I know the EU was not perfect and immigration was a big concern for many. On the other hand nothing is going to change for at least two years. So all the people seriously misled thinking everything was going to change on friday morning, are in for one hell of a shock . Things are going to get much worse before it gets better. God help us all.

I can understand your anxiety. I'm thinking of the tens of thousands of British pensioners in Spain. How will they be able afford their lives in a Euro country with their now diminished pensions?

They have been talking about this on the news. I feel so sorry for them , perhaps they can come back if they want. Believe me there is no way I would want to leave Europe as it does us very well. I know there are problems with immigration like all countries. I can assure you the Remain people are sick to the stomach over this result.

@suzzy3 How can the pensiones come back? Many have sold their flats or homes in the UK and bought something in Spain with the money. They'll have to sleep in tents under bridges.

Plus the pensioners will not get health care through the EU anymore.

I can understand your concern. There are some things to worry about, with regards to the UK leaving the EU. But only time will tell whether this was the right move or not.

@suzzy3 those are all some valid concerns. Hopefully, the next person in charge will have an idea what to do, and things will be alright.

I think we are up the creek without a paddle. We will just have to hope the clever people can sort this all out. No more cheap holidays in Europe, Having to apply for British passports as european passports will soon not be viable. Not to mention the rising food prices as EU subsidies dry up in two years. Our prices will rise as the £ is taking a dive and imports will cost a lot more.

I bet time will tell that the move was even worse than many people are thinking now.

I don't know that much about the whole situation but most people I know there think it is a good move for their country to have split from the EU. I have no idea if anything will change or not.

@suzzy3 I don't know about what you are saying as the people I talk with have a different opinion.

Not many people understood the ramifications of leaving the EU. They just thought they would wake up the next day and everything would change for the better. There is a petition going around for people who want to change their minds and have another referendum. A lot of people in our country have no idea of how things work. They don't understand and Boris and Nigel Farage took advantage of them. All for power. While the country was in turmoil from the shock Boris Johnson and Nigel Farage disappeared off the scene ,neither of them are elected politicians just clever speakers who can take people in and get them convinced they are doing the right thing. You have to ask yourself Who for. Believe me, there are plenty of heartbroken people in the UK at the moment, who did not want to leave the EU. It may not be perfect but had many advantages for the UK people.
