Is a United Korea Possible? Is North Korea Evil?

Several years back, former President Bush Jr. employed the phrase "axis of evil" which included Iran, Iraq, and North Korea. According to Wikipedia, "Beyond the Axis of Evil" includes Cuba, Libya, and Syria . Furthermore, Condoleezza Rice (who served as an integral member of the Bush Administration) described three 'outposts of tyranny': Belarus, Burma, Zimbabwe.
Have been watching a K-drama television series titled “Korean Peninsula” and it has provoked questions in my mind. Hoping someone can help differentiate fact from fiction and/or US political propaganda.
(1) Is there a real unification effort, a movement of people on both sides who seek to unite North and South Korea?
(2) Is North Korea really The Enemy?
NOTES:
- FYI. Korean Peninsula is on Netflix. Loaded with intense action!!
- Image credit mapping the areas of "evil" found on Wikipedia.

Now that North Korea has nukes, the possibility of a united Korea looks like a distant dream. I sometimes fear that North Koreans would take over the entire peninsula.

(Sigh.) Lots of dreams look like they are in a distance. But don't ever stop dreaming. Everything will go dark, with or without nukes. Thanks for commenting.

@cmoneyspinner If nukes are used, definitely the world will go dark.

@shaggin - SNL is aired on local TV in Austin, TX. But I don't watch it much any more. However, I did watch it regularly when we had cable TV. If you ever find that a clip of that Will Ferrell skit online, it's hilarious!

Seriously? Don't you watch Saturday Night Live? It's a good show to get a synopses of politics. The skits are funny but based on facts.
Will Ferrell did his Bush impersonation and mentioned it.

With respect to Obama's foreign policy and affairs and agreement with Iran, I disagree with his decisions. But we will have a new POTUS soon. Let's see what happens. I always HOPE!
You're right. There are not a lot good news or reports we hear about North Korea. Surely they must be true. Ya think? Because ... that's really extreme to make up and perpetuate lies like that about a peace-loving and kindhearted regime and its people. Yes? Something must be happening in that country to create that impression. I think when a person kills a close relative that served faithfully when their father when was the leader ... it doesn't look very encouraging. It sorts of looks like you're not dealing with a reasonable person or a person who can be reasoned with. Unreasonable people can make life very difficult for others. Sticky!

North and South Korea are the same people but divided by politics.
China has propped up North Korea as a buffer against America.
Sadly, big powers use others for their interests.
Even brothers and sisters are divided for decades and it is heart rending.
If big powers come together the problems of the world disappear.
But the arms merchants hold sway whoever is elected.
There is always a possibility of momentous changes anytime like when the Iron Curtain collapsed and also Apartheid - siva

If I were going to be swayed in one direction or another, I would be swayed toward the unification of the Korean people. But not in order for them to all to be officially oppressed under one government, and used as a pawn by a larger nation who does not have their best interests in mind.
It's because, it's very likely that with the divide that occurred, individual families were likely also split up and ended up living on different sides of the fence. Nothing hurts worse than that. The war is over but the suffering is not. Even if you live on the South side your heart must still in pain for a loved one or relative that's on the North side. You live every day hoping you might see them again, but resigning yourself to the fact that you probably never will see them ever again.
The bottom line is that for many people on this planet, life is cruel, because of powers that be who decide things that are not for their good or happiness and … the people in charge don't care!! Why should they? They living large, got the good life, never go hungry, etc. Taking way more than what they need to live while others go without and won't have unless they submit and do what you (The Power) tell them to do. Even that is no guarantee, if you're one of “the little people”. You might mistakenly or accidentally do something “wrong” and then it's off with your head!!
The truth is every human being has a God-given right to “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness”. Not just Americans because the words were written by the founding fathers. This is why I asked the questions. It doesn't hurt to think about it or entertain the possibility. Even though it seems like it will never happen … you never know. A “seed” might take root and grow. It could happen! Yeah. I'm a dreamer.

@Shiva49 - So in summary, what you're saying is, most of the problems within nations and governments can be narrowed down to the desires of ruthless power-mongers and their minions or henchmen who are willing to carry out their wishes. But the other people (the non-power-mongers) are willing live with each other and to give peace a chance. I agree. That's why when there is a crisis in one country, people move! Those people are called refugees. Refugees are humans who believe and hope that there are other humans somewhere else on the planet who don't want to hurt and crush the life out of them.

@cmoneyspinner I think it is eminently possible and as I had mentioned the division is perpetrated by big power politics.
No one loves another, at least, in the way it is reflected in the state of affairs of the world. I may say many want to go alone to a better world by keeping others out.
There are inconvenient truths that we tend to close our eyes on. Why supply arms to all and sundry and then lament they are all over the place? Today's friend and ally is tomorrow's enemy. Look at what happened in Afghanistan and Iraq ; they were allies decades ago.
Human race is highly hypocritical. Once we treat others like we we want to be treated then we are well on our way to attain our true potential. Now it is endless revenge. Gandhi said - an for an eye will make the whole world blind.
League of Nations was after the First WW and now we have the forgotten and listless UN. I recall Einstein - I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones.
But when we are led by greed and ego nothing else matters - siva
