Can't Say I'm Saddened By This One

A couple of weeks ago I had a discussion in which I mentioned the fact that a Jeffersonville, Indiana pastor of a church was arrested in a sting operation for attempting to meet an underage girl for sex. Well, that pastor (understand, I'm talking about the leader of a church!) committed suicide on Monday (June 27). I'm sorry, but I can't really say I'm saddened by this. The pastor was released on $10,000 bond (think about that: there are people in jail on a higher bond for smoking pot than for attempting to have sex with a 13-year-old girl!). He apparently wasn't given any restrictions (such as, "don't go around children, you pervert," or traveling), so he went to Georgia. There, in a suburb of Atlanta, he hanged himself in a storage unit. I'm sorry for his church. I'm sorry for the family members who thought he was a good man. I'm not, however, sorry that this slime ball has left this planet and has to now face the One who said "if anyone causes one of these little ones to stumble it would be better if he had a millstone around his neck and drowned in the sea" (Matthew 18:6).
