This is my last Dale Watson show for a while, and my last concert until mid-July (gasp! ). What I haven't mentioned in the reviews of the shows is that I've been working the merchandise table for Dale at the shows. It's a labor of love. I've known Dale and his band going on four years, and what's a little interaction with other fans before and after the show to help the band out? The venue (Southgate House) is empty right now (as you can see in the picture), save for me, the bartender, and the sounds of Merle Haggard singing "It's Not Love (But It's Not Bad)." In an hour it'll be the traditional honky tonk sounds of Dale & his Lone Stars and Wayne "the Train" Hancock (coincidentally, the first time I saw him was here, opening for Reverend Horton Heat) taking the recordings' place. This has been a lot of fun. I don't think I could do it full time, but I have been more than happy to help them out!

I forgot that you do that sometimes. Must be pretty fun.
