Got an Email from Examiner Today

“Changes at Examiner dot com,” was the subject. Uh-oh. Change in payment structure? They’ve been bought by someone else, like eBay bought Epinions?
“Media consumption has transformed dramatically over the years and our content initiatives have shifted with business priorities,” the email read. The words were English, but as to meaning…? Well, I could have written the next sentence myself: “To that end, we regret to inform you that Examiner.com has made the difficult decision to shut down operations.”
They will no longer accept submissions (Darn! And I had a book I was ready to review!), and the website will close down on or around July 10. They email warns contributors to save whatever content we want.
This isn’t my first rodeo. I saved content as I went along.
Nothing lasts forever of course. But I’m *sigh* 47¢ short of the $10 payout. Don’t suppose I can talk them into going for another couple of weeks?

Just wrote about this too! You can apply to AXS, which is part of the site it seems.

That was the cool thing about the Epinions thing, they paid us and gave everyone a bonus.
