Sam Robinson reports the news on Friday the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim have activated from the 15 day disabled list right handed relief pitcher Joe Smith.
Smith had been sidelined to the 15 day disabled list since June 7, 2016 with a strain of his left hamstring.
Smith had been pitching for the Inland Empire 66ers which is the High Class A minor league team of the Angels since late June on a rehabilitation assignment.
Smith will replace right handed relief pitcher Mike Morin on the Angels 25 man roster. Morin has been sent to the Salt Lake Bees which is the AAA minor league team of the Angels.
Smith will resume his role as the setup relief pitcher for the Angels under closer Huston Street for the remainder of the current baseball season.
Smith replaced Street as the Angels closer when Street was placed on the 15 day disabled list with a strain of his right oblique on April 28, 2016. before he was activated from the disabled list on May 30, 2016.

Since the Angels are not going to the playoff this year it is time to sell off their veteran players.

Even though he has battled injuries recently Huston is still pitching for the Angels this year.
