Dwyane Wade might leave Miami this season

There is a danger of Dwyane Wade leaving Miami this season after news that Heat's initial offer angered him. He was offered initially by the Heat's organization of 10 million dollars, which was 50% cut from his salary last season. Due to this instance, Wade is open to negotiations with other teams, and the Knicks reportedly put great moves in landing a deal with him. Also, I don't understand why a franchise player like Wade will be offered $10m per year when they can offer Whiteside a $98 million contract. I just don't get it. Wade is your franchise player, Miami has to do something about it. I don't like to see depart from Miami just because of money though.

Wade has reportedly offered $20 million by the Bulls and several teams. There is a reason why Pat Riley keeps Whiteside max and wants Wade for less. Wade is old and injury prone who can break down at any moment and to pay him $20 million cripples Miami. Whiteside is a young stud who is the future of Miami. If Wade cared about Miami and getting the Heat another ring, he wouldn't so so greedy. I wish I could be "dissed" by an offer of $10 million.

Yeah it is good that the Miami Heat head office is preparing for the future, but I think they still have to pay Wade's worth. He has averaged 21.4 ppg in the regular season last year and has averaged 26 ppg in the playoffs (he has tied his playoff ppg average during his 2006 career, which was 10 years ago and that is something else), also, Wade last season was at his optimum health (played 74 games, the most he has ever played in his career), it just shows how he has taken care of his body this season and I think he has the right to high ball any team pursuing him

@BigMoney25 Wade turned down 2-year $40 million from Miami because he wants a longer contract. Miami would be crazy to offer a 34-year-old injury prone player who can't make 3s even more. Wade is now talking to Denver which proves he could care less about playoffs and titles and is strictly about money.

I'm not updated with NBA news, but the 50% cut is indeed big, even though he's earning millions already. @JohnRoberts has a point about Wade's age, although Miami should have tried to cut back on his salary little by little. Then again, Wade's used to earn big, so that kind of cut really hurt his pocket -- and most probably his ego, too.

I just think that they have to pay Wade for all the sacrifices he has done for the franchise, cut all the other factors (age, injury proneness, health). I mean he has been productive last season, he has mentioned in an interview this year that he has focused more on his body than his game so I think Wade is still at his prime believe it or not based from his performance last season including his monster playoffs stats.
