Jesse Borek reports the news the Oakland Athletics on Saturday have activated from the 15 day disabled list left handed starting pitcher Rich Hill.
Hill had been on the 15 day disabled list since June 9, 2016 which was retroactive to May 30, 2016 with a strain of his right groin.
Hill had pitched one game for the Oakland Athletics Class A minor league team the Stockton Ports on a rehabilitation pitching assignment recently before he was promoted to make his next start at the O.Co Coliseum versus the Pittsburgh Pirates on Saturday.
Hill if he stays healthy will likely be traded to a Major League Baseball team that is contention to make the playoffs this year since the Athletics are not in contention to make a playoff appearance this year.
The Oakland Athletics sent right handed relief pitcher Andrew Triggs to their AAA minor league team the Nashville Sounds to make room for Hill on their 25 man roster on Saturday.

Gray is more likely to be traded away than Hill at this point.

Since the A's are not in playoff contention it is time to sell their veteran players.
