I haven't forgotten Patsy or Robbie, but I've been very busy with the golf tournament. I have some good news on that end (I won!) and some bad news (oh, my aching feet!). We had to double up today because of the threat of rain tomorrow. When I get home and count my winnings (both pennies
) I'll resume those countdowns. For the moment, however, I just have time for the latest entry in the top ten one-hit wonders of the 70s.
#9: Dancin' Man - Q
One of the things that made the 70s so filled with one-hit wonders was the disco era. Not every song that made you dance was necessarily "disco." Many were standard R&B songs that were no different in the "disco era" than they were five years earlier...except they were getting airplay as "disco."
One of those songs was "Dancin' Man," a real one-hit wonder if ever there was one. The band that recorded the song, which peaked at #23 in 1977, was called Q, which was comprised of Pittsburgh musicians, including Don Garvin and Robert Peckman.
"Dancin' Man" was an infectious tune about women wanting nothing but to dance. It wasn't a major hit, and Q never hit the charts again.

It is an obscure one. Never heard of it before.
