Joseph Zucker reports the news the Cleveland Indians have designated for assignment right handed pitcher Joba Chamberlain and left handed pitcher Tom Grozelanny on Monday. The Indians will replace Chamberlain and Grozelanny with left handed pitcher T J House and right handed pitcher Mike Clevinger to replace them on their 25 man active roster. Chamberlain had pitched in 20 relief appearances with an earned run average of 2.25 with no wins and no losses during the 2016 baseball season.. Chamberlain will likely be picked up by another team in the Major Leagues since he can be useful to any team that will be needing the services of the former New York Yankees relief and starting pitcher for the remainder of the current baseball season after he clears the waiver wire. Gorzelanny on the other hand has a pitching record of one win and no losses but with an earned run average of 21.00 in seven relief pitching appearances during the 2016 baseball season. Gorzelanny will likely be signed another team in the Major Leagues but will likely be sent to their minor league team in 2016.

Gorzelanny is an old vet near the end of the line. I am puzzled over dumping Joba. Good ERA. He'll get picked up quick.

I am surprised that the Indians dropped Chamberlain despite his good record.
