Kevin Durant to be a Warrior

I was caught off guard by the former league MVP's decision to sign with the Warriors this summer. I honestly thought he was going to stay with Oklahoma City. After all they came within one game of the NBA finals and a shot at a title. Thunder fans are disappointed and Warrior fans are excited about the possibilities. What is your reaction to this? Personally I think free agency this year has hurt the smaller market franchises especially with this signing.

OKC is now an also ran and has to make the decision to trade Westbrook before he walks away also. GSW have created a bought and paid for super team that everyone will now hate and root against. It's the best team money can buy and makes a mockery of the game because it is already pretty much a sure thing GSW vs LeBron for a 3rd straight Finals.

With Bogut gone it is unlikely they can pick up a centre with any real credentials. We'll see if other teams can take advantage of this weakness.

@JohnRoberts I saw that in the news today. Did a little research. Interesting might be enough to keep them from getting in trouble in the middle.

@koopharper GSW did get a decent center. Zaza Pachulia took minimum money for the chance to get a ring. He's a solid defensive center very similar to Bogut.

I used to compete in several sports especially basketball. My parents weren't into sports at all. Had I not played myself I'd pretty much be where you are on that count.

Early this morning I heard the news from my son and it got him so excited to be seeing Kevin Durant as Curry's teammate.

He made what he thought would be the best decision for his career. I can respect that. The high increase in the salary cap this year is allowing a lot of players to cash in. Toronto was bound to lose Biyombo but I am a little bothered where so many stars are landing. I'm not sure this is in the league's longterm best interests'.
