This morning at 8 am my sister had an appointment with the doctor about her migranes. It was very far away so my mother, father, sister and the baby left at 4:30 am to get there on time. I took my children and two if her children (the 13 year old didn't want to go) to a man made beach / playground. It was a gorgeous day and they all had a wonderful time playing in the sand and swimming in the water. When we returned home at about 4:30 pm my sister was laying on the couch. My father told me that they took blood out of her arm and injected it into her spine where the epidural was done during her labor with her daughter a month ago. Hopefully now she should start feeling better. Her blood pressure is staying down now with medicine.

Migraines are such terrible things to get. Sounds like good news so far, hopefully she continues to improve and the Migraines go away

I have never had a migraine but she has battled headaches her whole life just like my father. They found out recently it is due to a blood clotting issue. These migranes since the babies birth have been a lot worse.

@shaggin That can be dangerous, the blood clotting issue. Are they treating that issue?

@rbailey83 Simply having her take folic acid each day is supposed to work.

most interestin' that doin' such'd be a cure? i know that many suffer horribly 'fter they've given birth due to those epidurals. kinda makes me glad such t'weren't 'round back when i was birthin' babes. i sure hope she does get to feelin' better. i know what a stress 'tis been'n all the family 'n somethin' i'm certain she aint to thrilled 'bout. nobody wishes to feel's though they're a burden.

It is only 1% of woman who have complications after birth from using an epidural. She was one of the unlucky ones. Its good she had it as the baby got stuck and a huge muscle builder nurse had to get on top of her stomach and push with all her weight and strength while the doctor pulled and my sister pushed to force that baby out. That would have been aganozing if she had been able to feel it all.

I see that in my sister in law during week ends, I feel for her that she had to go through the same.

I hope that works for her and the migraines stop. Glad the kids had a good time.

They aren't supposed to wait so long to put the blood in her spine to stop the fluid leaking. Now since it was done over a month after the birth she only has a 50-60% chance of this helping fix the problem.
