Animal Rights: Why Do We Eat Animal’s Meat?

I think that it contradicts the principles of animal rights if we eat animal’s meat. What is really the scope of the animal rights? Most people also consumed animal’s meat such as pork, beef, lamb and the like. Are we violating something here? In some country, dog meat is eaten during a winter season. That’s definitely violating the rights. If we do eat animal’s meat, then it means we violated the simple rule in protecting the animals. Some people will say, it is the livestock for human consumption. But they are still animals that need to have their rights to live. What do you think?

Since I am not a vegetarian, so I can't say something since I have a need of the meats. Of course I don't eat the animals like dogs, but I like beef and seafood. I can't imagine if one day I eat vegetables only. Although I like eating vegetables, but it is different if I am a total vegetarian.

That is how it is ordained. The bigger animals in jungles will devour the smaller ones. Lizards will eat up insects - I can go on and on. There is a purpose why some exist on this earth I nurtured a rooster as a pet and I have vouched never to do it again.Its comb grew so big that it interfered with its eating. He was a very unhappy bird as it could not do things that it did during his younger days. He developed arthritis and could not walk. That is what will happen to pigs, cows and the like.

I always think of this issue and I will call it an inconvenient truth that we close our eyes to.
Being a vegetarian has helped me to be more aware.
I recall my cousin, a vegetarian like me, requesting for vegetarian fare while in Manila.
The waiter suggested beef as cow is a vegetarian! siva

There are some animals like pig,cow or chicken that humans usually eat; so with fish; but it is a taboo to eat dog's meat! It is beyond what is acceptable.

@acelawrites I do agree with you that it is cruel to eat dog meat. However, there are some isolated places in out country that they still eat it.

I think that we are omnivorpus animals. It means that we are meant to eat a lot of things including other animals. I cannot think about other animal rights when we kill each other.

@marguicha I guess we are. We cannot live without killing the animals and have it for consumption to survive.
