Day 110 Psalm 110 Psalm 110:1 < The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool. 2 The LORD shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion: rule thou in the midst of thine enemies. 3 Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power, in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning: thou hast the dew of thy youth. 4 The LORD hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest forever after the order of Melchizedek. 5 The Lord at thy right hand shall strike through kings in the day of his wrath. 6 He shall judge among the heathen, he shall fill the places with the dead bodies; he shall wound the heads over many countries. 7 He shall drink of the brook in the way: therefore shall he lift up the head. Everyone wants some power, whether it’s over their household or their country, they want to be the one in charge, making the rules or the laws, and seeing to it there is total obedience to what they demand. David wrote this psalm, not about any earthly king whose laws fade away in the progress of time, but about Jesus our Savior who would one day rule the earth with his laws, laws given to his people on Mount Sinai. Jesus is the strength of his people, and there will be a day when he will have put down his enemy, Satan, striking him in on the head, and destroying every person who followed after Satan, rejecting him as Savior and Lord. In that day, he will be our High Priest. However, until that day arrives, he must himself be struck down, die on Calvary’s cross for the sin of the whole world, and then rise again on the third day and ascend into heaven waiting that final triumphant day when Satan will be cast down forever in the final battle and all those with him. What a glorious day that will be. Revelation 19:11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. 12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. 13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. 14 And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. 15 And out of his mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. 16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS. 17 And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God; 18 That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great. 19 And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army. 20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone. 21 And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh. David wrote about what would soon happen, and what would happen in the final battle on earth. We have seen the first part fulfilled with Jesus’ death and resurrection. We will see the final fulfillment when we go to war with the Lamb, Jesus our Savior, and see Satan’s final destruction. What a glorious day that will be! Let’s pray: Father, thank you for sending your Son, Jesus, to be my Savior, defeating Satan on the cross and rising on the third day for my salvation. Help me live my life in full expectation of Jesus’ return to destroy Satan in the final battle of Armageddon. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen. I like these psalms as there are times, God seemed far away. But we are reminded he is not

I've been told that when God seems far away, it wasn't he that moved it was us.

@Drosophila More than likely. When we've gone far from him, it only takes one step to get back to him. He's always there with us, even when it doesn't seem like it.

It's reassuring to fully understand God is, in fact, in control.
