No doubt we have heard the phrase “wrongfully accused”. But with the Internet and other technological advances, guess we can add the phrase “wrongfully branded”.
Several months back, tried out a service which would show me the main search results if someone were looking for me via the Internet. For the test, they would ask you to check the links to make sure they are valid. Then you check one of 3 boxes: Positive, Negative, Not Sure?
The goal of the service was to ensure that your “brand” reflected who you really are. In other words, protect your good reputation, especially your online reputation.
“A good reputation is worth more than gold or silver.”
Well today I checked the links and made a discovery. According to a link that appears in the search results I have relatives, possibly “my own children” who I don't know anything about! These children have names that I would never name my children. Yes. There is a pattern to the way my children were given their names which I will not reveal. Although most folks who know me, know how my children got their names.
AnyWHO!! Now I'm wondering!
How does information like this get so screwed up? Just by using a computer???
“To err is human. To forgive is Divine.”
No no no.
“To err is human. But to really screw things up? Use a computer!”
